After over a century of partitions and foreign rule, Poland regained its independence in 1918, proving that the spirit of the Polish nation can never be erased.
Despite 123 years of captivity, Poles never stopped believing.
They rose time and again through uprisings, songs, literature, and prayers, keeping the dream of freedom alive.
As our great hero Marshal Józef Piłsudski once said:
“He who does not respect and value his past is not worthy of the respect of the present, nor has the right to the future.”
