Thank you so much Farideh Sadeghin and Agatha Kulaga for including our restaurant Relax in your Polish culinary journey through Greenpoint. It’s wonderful to be among the few Polish places you’ve managed to visit. Since we opened our restaurant in 1997, Greenpoint has undergone significant changes. Political, social, and economic changes, both in Europe and in our homeland, have influenced the face of Polish immigration. Our compatriots are increasingly less likely to come to New York in search of work and a better future, which has also affected the clientele of our restaurant. While adapting our menu, we try to remain faithful to Polish culinary traditions.
We joyfully observe the growing interest of American youth in Polish cuisine – they enthusiastically sample Polish pierogi or cutlets and relish the sour rye soup. Friday and Saturday evenings have transformed into times of group gatherings over Polish meals and beer, which often last into the late hours. Our hearts are filled with even greater joy when we read the positive reviews our customers leave. These reviews are for us not only a confirmation of the quality of our work but also a motivation to further develop and maintain Polish culinary traditions in the heart of New York.
